Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree held its grand opening on 26 November 2025. Banyan Group counts it as its 100th resort and its homecoming to Singapore, and Mandai Wildlife Group owns it. It stands inside the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, on 4.6 hectares of greenery with views across the Upper Seletar Reservoir, and Banyan Group calls it the first resort in a wildlife and nature destination in the middle of a capital city.

The architecture stands on raised structures that preserve the natural terrain, and mature trees were kept, including a 12-meter Rain Tree and an Indian Beech. Guests stay in treehouses shaped like the seed pods of the Purple Millettia, or in a five-storey building whose guestrooms and suites look over the rainforest, gardens and reservoir. Rooms have full length windows that open for natural ventilation, art by Singaporean artist Donna Ong, and rainwater harvested for flushing. The operator describes the resort as Singapore's first Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy certified resort.

Forage, the signature restaurant, serves dishes built on ingredients from a rooftop edible garden and local producers. The rooftop pool looks out over the reservoir. The Banyan Tree Spa has three treatment pods inspired by the scales of the Sunda pangolin, and the Meranti Ballroom hosts events. Staying at the resort unlocks special rates for the Mandai parks, which include Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders and Rainforest Wild Asia.

“Banyan Group and Mandai Wildlife Group marked a major milestone on 26 November with the Grand Opening of Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree.”
