Capella Diriyah is anticipated to welcome guests in 2026, according to the Capella Hotels and Resorts announcement, a PDF that carries no date (its file properties give December 2023). Diriyah Company still lists the hotel as opening soon. It is the brand's first hotel in the Middle East.
The hotel stands in the Northern Cultural District of the Diriyah project, next to the historical wall and overlooking Wadi Hanifah, with views of the At-Turaif UNESCO World Heritage Site from its rooftop pool. Part of Diriyah's original walls is built into the design. Capella's announcement gives 100 rooms and suites. Diriyah Company's page gives 202 rooms and the Capella Hotel Group's development page 85, so the count is unsettled. The Royal Suite has a star-gazing sky window.
Capella Wellness has a hammam and a flotation room, and Diriyah Company's page names the spa Auriga. Four food and drink venues are planned: a Mediterranean restaurant, a Latin American steakhouse, a poolside bar and a patisserie.
