HOSHINOYA Asuka is scheduled to open on 22 July 2027 in Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture, on the grounds of what was Japan's first imperial capital. It will be the 10th HOSHINOYA property and the second in Nara, after HOSHINOYA Nara Prison. Hoshino Resorts first concluded an agreement with the village in 2016. In January 2026 the operator gave only 2027 as the opening year, and the September 2026 release fixed the date and opened reservations on 25 September 2026. The release notes that the area gained UNESCO World Heritage status in July 2026 as the Ancient Capitals of Asuka and Fujiwara.
All 35 rooms are single-story detached suites in four types, from about 70 to 260 square metres, with ceilings up to about four metres. The Akane rooms, of about 105 to 107 square metres, have a stone-chamber bath. A terraced garden modelled on the village's rice fields sits at the centre of the grounds. Azuma Environmental & Architectural Design Institute is the architect and Onsite Planning & Design Office the landscape designer.
Rates start from JPY 193,000 a night per room, including tax and service charge and excluding meals. The hotel is about four minutes by car from Asuka Station on the Kintetsu Yoshino Line, and the facilities listed are the rooms, dining, a public bath, a spa and a reception.
“HOSHINOYA, which offers extraordinary experiences through the unique themes of each property, will open HOSHINOYA Asuka (Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture) on July 22, 2027.”
