Opens July 2027
Mandarin Oriental Winter Palace, Luxor is the planned reopening of the Winter Palace as a Mandarin Oriental, scheduled for July 2027. In its release of 11 February 2026 the operator said the Winter Palace would close in early 2026 for a complete restoration.
The hotel overlooks the Nile and sits near the Temple of Luxor. The operator describes a refined collection of rooms and suites, six dining venues and The Spa at Mandarin Oriental set within tranquil gardens, alongside elegant event spaces. The release gives no room count and names no restaurants, designer or architect. Mandarin Oriental will assume management, and the hotel is developed in partnership with Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) Holding.
The same release places the hotel in a wider Egypt plan: the reopening of Mandarin Oriental Shepheard, Cairo in 2027, the Old Cataract hotel in Aswan, also due in 2027, and a Mandarin Oriental Nile cruise on three, four and seven-night itineraries between Luxor and Aswan. The cruise vessel was in design development at the time of the release.
The operator's wording, “In Luxor, the iconic Winter Palace will close in early 2026 to begin a complete restoration, reopening in July 2027 as Mandarin Oriental Winter Palace, Luxor.”, was read on its own page and last checked 31 October 2026.
