Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique opened in April 2025, and Hilton unveiled it on April 22. It is the brand's first hotel in Costa Rica and the first property to open in the Punta Cacique community, on the peninsula along Playa Penca in Guanacaste. Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport is 25 minutes away.

The resort has 188 rooms: 148 guest rooms and 40 suites, 22 of which have private plunge pools. Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos of Mexico City designed it in terraces that follow the cliff, with living rooftops. A multi-level pool, where water cascades from the highest tier to the lowest, is steps from a secluded stretch of beach.

Six places to eat and drink include La Finca, the signature restaurant, Tico-Tica for all-day dining, the Peacock Alley Bar and Vida Pool & Grill. The spa covers 17,000 square feet with 11 treatment rooms and draws on the healing traditions of the Chorotega people. There are kids and teens clubs and 10,000 square feet of meeting space, and the ballrooms and event lawn hold up to 382 attendees. The resort sits in the same development as Waldorf Astoria Residences Costa Rica, Punta Cacique, a collection of four- and five-bedroom Estate Homes.

“Today, Hilton (NYSE: HLT) proudly unveils the highly anticipated Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique, expanding Hilton's luxury portfolio in the Caribbean and Latin America”
