Waldorf Astoria Osaka opened in April 2025 as the brand's first hotel in Japan, and Hilton announced the opening on April 2. It stands in the Umekita District at GRAND GREEN OSAKA South Building, 5-54 Ofuka-cho, Kita-ku, steps from JR Osaka Station, which has high-speed rail connections to Kyoto, Nara and Kobe.
The 252 rooms and suites sit between the 31st and 38th floors of the South Park Tower. They include two 146-square-metre penthouse suites and a 193-square-metre Presidential Suite. André Fu designed the hotel, drawing on the Yodoko Guest House, a residence Frank Lloyd Wright designed in 1918. The arrival sequence includes a monumental ceramic sculpture by Jun Kaneko.
Four restaurants and bars share the building: Peacock Alley, the 128-seat lobby lounge; Canes & Tales, a 47-seat cocktail bar; Jolie Brasserie, a 132-seat French restaurant; and Tsukimi, a 61-seat Japanese restaurant with sushi and teppanyaki counters. The Waldorf Astoria Spa has treatment rooms, hot springs, steam rooms and saunas in a diamond-shaped layout, and the central swimming pool is 20 metres long. Event space totals approximately 1,000 square metres, including the Grand Ballroom and a chapel.
