Wilderness Magashi Peninsula is a lodge on a private peninsula in Akagera National Park, Rwanda. Wilderness announced its official opening on 4 December 2025 and describes it as an exclusive new safari retreat now welcoming guests. A release dated 9 January 2025 had said it was set to welcome guests in 2025, with the first guests expected that September.
The camp stands in a 4,287-hectare (10,590-acre) private wilderness with its own piece of Lake Rwanyakazinga shoreline, backed by the Mutumba Mountains. It has a central guest area with dining and lounge spaces and a gym, a private four-bed villa and two suites, each placed 150 to 200 metres from the next with no connecting walkways. The villa has two en-suite twin rooms around a living area with a kitchen and private pool, plus a third en-suite room that can serve as a children's room, home office or gym. Each suite has its own plunge pool and Star Bed.
Luxury Frontiers and Artichoke Interior Design shaped the architecture and interiors, and a solar farm powers the camp. Rwandan chefs cook from nearby farmers and small producers. Guests can take water excursions by pontoon or swamp cruiser, night drives and catch-and-release fishing. Rates for 2026 and 2027 run from USD 2,413 to USD 3,498 per person per night, fully inclusive of meals, local drinks and lodge activities. Conservation levy, park fees and gorilla trekking permits are charged separately.
