Opens in 2027

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is set to open in 2027, as the operator stated on September 29, 2026. It will mark the debut of Four Seasons in the Dominican Republic, on a 60-acre (24 hectare) site along the beachfront of Playa Esmeralda, on the southern shores of Samaná Bay.

Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld is responsible for the architecture and interior design. His tropical modernist scheme uses Coralina limestone, brick and stucco. Gensler is the executive architect, and EDSA is master planner and landscape architect. The resort will have 95 rooms and suites with private terraces, plus 25 private residences of three and four bedrooms steps from the beach.

The private estate takes in white-sand beaches, coral reefs, mangroves, lagoons and a working farm that supplies organic produce, honey, dairy and eggs. Planned outlets include a specialty restaurant, a beachside grill, a ceviche bar and a rum bar. There will be a spa with a yoga pavilion, tennis, padel and pickleball, and a Kids For All Seasons club. Tropicalia's Tom Doak golf course is expected to open after the resort.

The operator's wording, “set to open in 2027”, was read on its own page and last checked 31 October 2026.
