Opened June 2026
Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca welcomed its first guests in June 2026. The operator had announced 1 June in March and confirmed the opening in a release of 22 June. It stands on the southwest coast in Calvià, near Puerto Portals, on the site of the historic Hotel Punta Negra, with direct access to two secluded coves. The address is Carrer Punta Negra 12, Palmanova. Palma de Mallorca Airport is 20 to 25 minutes away by taxi or private transfer, and the operator also offers a private yacht transfer service.
The 131 rooms and suites include 26 suites, nine casitas (four suites and five rooms), 13 rooms and suites with plunge pools and five rooftop suites with private pools. The 2023 announcement described 131 guestrooms with 44 suites and nine bungalows. The operator names six restaurants and bars: Matsuhisa (Nikkei dining from Nobu Matsuhisa), Leña by Dani García (steakhouse), Jacinta (Mexican), Leppoc (Mediterranean and Levantine, with Garden Bar), Sobretaula (tapas) and Thalos (poolside bar).
The spa has nine treatment cabins and a relaxation room, with signature treatments including the Curandero Experience and a Tea Ceremony. There are two outdoor pools for adults and one for children, all with sea views, plus an indoor pool and a fitness centre. A work by Vera Berthelot, made in 1966 for the original hotel's opening and depicting the conquest of Mallorca in 1229, forms part of the design. The Be the First to Stay opening package was priced from EUR1,500 per night for two people in the operator's June 2026 release.
The operator's wording, “Mandarin Oriental is delighted to introduce Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, welcoming its first guests this month.”, was read on its own page and last checked 31 October 2026.
