Opened 30 March 2026
Orient Express Venezia opened on 30 March 2026 in Palazzo Donà Giovannelli, in Cannaregio, where two canals intertwine along the Rio di Noale. The palazzo was built in 1436 and is a hotel for the first time. Aline Asmar d'Amman, architect and interior designer, led an eight-year renovation, and Arsenale Group owns the building.
The hotel has 47 rooms, suites and apartments. Superior Rooms average 32 sqm, Deluxe Rooms are 40 sqm, Junior Suites 46 sqm and Suites average 58 sqm, and the six Signature Suites carry names such as Cherubini and La Minerva. Apartments in the adjacent building are offered for longer stays. The hotel's FAQ gives rates from €1,320 a night for a room and up to €20,000 for the most exclusive spaces.
La Casati is the all-day dining space, with cicchetti and a garden, and the Wagon Bar is an Art Deco cocktail bar. Three-Michelin-starred Chef Heinz Beck provides the creative vision for every venue, and Heinz Beck Venezia, a fine dining restaurant for up to 20 guests, is listed as opening in 2027. The spa offers Razul rituals and Furtuna Skin treatments.
Guests can arrive by private boat through a Gothic portal on the canal, or walk from Venice Santa Lucia station in about ten minutes.
