Opens in 2028
Six Senses Lake Como will occupy the Grand Hotel Cadenabbia on the western shore of Lake Como, in Cadenabbia di Griante. IHG's release of 17 October 2024 says it will continue the legacy of the first hospitality destination opened on the lake's shores, in 1820, and gives 2028 as the opening year. That date was last confirmed by IHG in October 2024.
Following a full restoration, the six-story building will have significantly fewer rooms than before: 102 rooms and suites, with more space for the spa and wellness area. The outdoor pool and sun deck will be joined by a floating pool on the lake. The release names a specialty restaurant and a terrace bar and restaurant on the fourth floor with lake views.
Six Senses chief executive Neil Jacobs describes the hotel as "a serene escape within the most beautiful lakeside gardens just 90 minutes away", in a passage that compares it with Six Senses Milan. The release also calls it a nearby retreat for the Milanese. Gruppo Statuto, the owner named in the release, signed the management agreement.
The operator's wording, “Six Senses Milan is set to open in 2025 and Six Senses Lake Como in 2028.”, was read on its own page and last checked 31 October 2026.
