Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan opened in October 2025, and Hilton announced the opening on October 23. It is the brand's second hotel in Shanghai and stands at No. 18 Linyao Road in Pudong's Qiantan District, on the southern stretch of the new Bund, across the Huangpu River from Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund. Hilton's earlier releases gave summer 2025 and then late 2025.
Kohn Pedersen Fox led the architecture, a design that reflects the elegance of a cruise ship at sea, and Cheng Chung Design did the interiors, anchored by two motifs, the sail and the peacock. The 204 rooms and suites start at 52 square metres, with river views and generous balconies, and select suites have outdoor jacuzzis.
Arame serves modern European cuisine, and Fu Cheng serves Min cuisine from Quanzhou under Michelin-starred chef Justin Yang. Starlight is a reservation-only chef's table with a private terrace over the river, and Peacock Alley is the lounge at the heart of the hotel. The hotel has a 25-metre indoor heated pool under a glass skylight, a 24-hour fitness center and four private treatment rooms.
